Best Haircuts For Women With
Round Faces

Haircuts for women with round faces, like Kirsten DunstThe goal is to create less volume around the face to minimize roundness.

Flattering styles and cuts fall just below the chin. Soft, graduated layers make your face appear slimmer and remove bulk and weight from the sides. Consider wispy and tapered ends. These de-emphasize the roundness of your face. Bangs are flattering, but keep them long or side swept.

Avoid: One-length, blunt cuts if you have short hair. Curly, short hair is also a no-no.

You're in good company. Round-faced celebrities include Fergie, Kate Bosworth, Oprah Winfrey, Cameron Diaz, Kirsten Dunst, Michelle Williams and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Hair Care Hollywood For You

Hair gel coming out of bottle. She's in the movies - that gorgeous woman with bodacious hair. Besides a contingent of stylists, what's her secret?

She invests in the best hair care products. And she doesn't damage her hair with endless experimentation.

Buying a hot new gel does little good if it has high alcohol content and you already have dry hair.

A hair care product should make your hair look and feel great.

From gels and mousse to relaxers and curl enhancers, everything is possible with the use of one or several products on the market today. The market is saturated with concoctions to make thin hair thick, dull hair shiny, and curly hair straight. But putting too much in your hair will almost always kill a look.

Put yourself in hair analysis.

At ds Parada, we're trained to analyze your hair and make specific recommendations on the products that will give you the look you want. Yes, our products are more expensive than the ones you'll find on the middle shelf at Target, but if they make a difference and help you love your hair, they're worth every penny.

Once you find the perfect hair care products for your hair and your lifestyle, use them consistently. You'll soon find that you have the hair you've always wanted.

Footsies: How Well-Heeled Are You?

High-heels are here to stay.High-heeled shoes date back to 3500 B.C. when upper class women wore crudely designed heels. In ancient Greece and Rome, platform shoes with high wood or cork soles, were popular among actors who wore shoes of different heights to indicate social status. As the history of shoes evolved, designer shoes have remained a significant status symbol in our society. So much so, the term "well-heeled" became synonymous with opulent wealth.

Italy is the epicenter for designer shoes. The first women's high heel shoe was designed in 1533 in Florence, for the wedding of Catherine d'Medici, later to become the Queen of France. The heels made the 14-year-old bride appear two inches taller.

Today, Italy is home to numerous designer shoe brands. For the 'well heeled', it's natural to pick an Italian brand like Ferragamo, Prada, Gucci, Tods, Guiseppe Zanotti, or Dolce and Gabanna. Although many shoe designers, including Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin are not Italian, their shoe factories are in Italy.

High heels are here to stay. Last year, women in the United States spent more than $5 billion on shoes. Broken down by inches:

  • 0 - .5 inch heel - $986 million
  • 5 - 1.5 inch hell - $1 billion
  • 1.5 - 3 inch heel - $1.6 billion
  • over 3 inch heel - $1.5 billion

Much has changed since Queen Catherine's high heeled shoes. Check out the 2010 spring heels with bursts of color, wooden heels and peep toes leading the charge. See sketches of the styles expected to appear with the daffodils.
